Has Orhan Cileli , an award winning industrial designer, developed the future for houseboat designs? Cileli's has developed an eco-friendly design that can move the traditional houseboat outside of calmer inland waterway, and into ocean waters.
The design was inspired by a fishing bobber, and incorporates high tensile reinforced acrylic curved panes to make the houseboat strong. The exterior design allows for rain water to flow through a channel, and into a storage tank for purification, and future use.
Half of the houseboat living area is submerged. There is a beltline incorporated into the design which creates extra bouyancy and serves as a serves as amn outdoor deck for lounging and entertaining. The submerged portion also doubles as a cooling system, and lowers heat emissions.
The top of the houseboat features an eco-garden full of plants which is fed by the sun, and collects rainwater for growth. The roof beams incorporate built in solar panels.

The houseboat is said to be propelled by solar driven turbines, as well as natural ocean currents.
This futuristic eco-designed houseboat features all the comforts of home, but allows one to get in touch with nature.
