Does anyone know anything about them? Tough? Overnight rot out? Seems like I remember reading something about them in the past here, but I can't find anything via forum search. I have found one in S.W. Fla, and before I even attempt to follow up on it, I would kinda like to know what to look out for. Thanks in advance,

The Boatel Islander series were/are very desirable boats. Especially those with vee drives.
That being said, the transoms, stringers etc. rotted and had to be replaced just the same as any other wood framed houseboat. Look for rot around windows, doors, hatches, roof, etc.
The Islander models deserve restoration more than most because of their design and style.

OHB and I have found several that almost had no ro issues or very minor. They do not have stringer rot like many other similar boats. But as he said look.
