TOPIC: Groaning Noise

Groaning Noise 1 Year, 5 Months ago Karma: 0
My boat has developed a "groaning" noise when turning the wheel to the right. It sounds like it is right at the transom/rear of engine.

Anyone know what this might be?

Make and size of boat.

Make, type, model of engines and drives. (vee drives, outdrives?)

High speed, low speed, in foreward, in reverse?

Define groaning. Mechanical noise or hull straining noise???????

The groaning noise is actually in my runabout. It has a Volvo duoprop. Usually at high speed.

Could be a number of things.

Gimbal bearing, bellows, ujoint...

You need to have it checked by a mechanic as soon as you can.
