Restoring a ’62 Terra Marina
Mike Hancock

ImageImageThe boat was designed to be a combo houseboat/rv. When launched, the wheels stay on the boat. You disconnect the boat from the ball of the hitch on the tow vehicle. The hitch is then elevated somewhat to clear the water.

The boat was almost totally destroyed due to neglect of the steel hull. The project is perhaps a bit irrational, but doable. My attraction to is is that I remember wanting one during the 60’s when my family and I went to the boat show in Houston. We never bought one back then.

I found this one in Corpus Christi, TX and towed it to Boise for restoration. More than a restoration, it is really a complete rebuild. I have found no info on the boat, nor do I know of any others that are still in existance. I would love to find some brochures, photos and such that would help in the restoration. No luck so far.
