Last year I purchased a houseboat--Sunliner by Jeffboat--well no one seems to know anything about these boats but it seems to be a pretty solid ol boat. Now to my question but first let me remind all yu fella's out there--I am blonde, female and old (well anyway I feel that way at times) I had someone else paint the outside of the boat last year--need to retouch some places but he only painted to the deck. Now I want to paint from the deck to the water line--what should I use. I will probably be needing to have it pulled out this winter and have the bottom done as it sounds as if it has been about 5 years since that was done. Maybe you all can give me a few suggestions on brand, type etc that I can do myself for the section I mentioned. I am on Grand Lake in OK can get supplies from West Marine in Tulsa--thanx for any help!!

I WOULD YOU USE THE SAME THING YOU USED ON THE HOUSE IF IT WAS SATISFACTORY.
I ALWAYS USED SHERWIN WILLIAMS MACHINERY/MARINE ENAMAL. THIS GIVES A 5 TO 7 YEAR LIFE WITH 2 COATS AND GOES ON EASY. DO NOT APPLY IN DIRECT SUN AS IT WILL SETUP TOO FAST.
NOTE: DON'T USE THEIR PREMIUM ENAMAL AS IT DOESNT WORK FOR BOATS. GOES ON TO ROUGH AND YOU CAN'T TIP IT.
IF YOUR GOING TO PULL IT OUT DO IT THEN. MUCH EASIER.

.If you want something as good as marine enamel and cheaper try Devoe 389 epoxy, it is used for water towers on the inside, it is the same as their Marine bottom paint. It is a two part and will last a long time. coal tar epoxy would be fine on the bottom
