1978 36' Gibson with twin crusaders and "v" drives--- It looks like the motor stringers are rottening out at both the inside motor mounts by the transmissions. I am afraid that the motors my get out of alignment with the drive shafts if not alrady. Is there anyone who has done or knows someone who had installed _meta_l motor mount hangers or something like that rather then romoving the motors and rebuilding the stringers?

See the Nautiline post below. Also look for rot in the transom, decks and roof.

You are right to be concerned about engine/transmission alignment. In general it is less money to pull the engines and drives and repair the stringers than to try to build around the problem. If the stringers are shot - most likely there are other rot areas that need looking into. Bilges that have water, even a little, will rot stringers fast. The rot starts where the bolts go through the engine mounts and the limber holes.
