hey there, wells heres the deal me and a buddy own a 1979 Nautaline 43 we're restoring it all the way but we're having some rot problems with the stringers. I really can't find anyone who know's how to fix them without replacing them totally. I just wanted to see if there was any way of saving them? Thanks and i'll be back with more questions. -Ben < ="">

Stringers usually require total replacement. Also if stringers are gone so is the transom. Yo will alsofind rot in decks roof and hatches.

well see we have redone the transome and the roof and the side walkways basicly everything else we just did a full re-power last summer, we just didn't know how to go about tackeling the stringers , we just have no idea, any pointers would be great. the worst spot is right in front of the bathroom, in the engine room there fine and up front there fine just right in the middle there real squishy -Ben< ="">

Failed stringers are the cause of buckled floors in the cabin.

You have to pull the machinery, remove the old stringers and glass in new.

Hi we have a 1973 43ft. nautaline and we are going through the process of replacing the stringers. We have the whole boat gutted floors, walls, cabinets you name it it's gone. Our harbor is doing the work on the stringers then we are doing the rest. My question is where else can this boat be rotten? The transom has already been done. Also how long should a repair like this last?

well oldhouseboater told me that if the stringers are rotten then the roof, decks and hatches are most likely gone too, and the transom but u said u already redid it. all that stuff was rotten in ours, but it wasn't that bad, but were trying to do the stringers ourselves now and are not sure how to, just little by little.
