I've asked about this before, but just wanted to revisit the problem to get more info if possible. I have a 69 37 footer that I have restored and it looks better than new. That transformer under the main salon gets too hot for me to put my hand on and leave it on there. Is this ok? I know they run hot, I just want to know if they are supposed to run this hot. Seems to work fine, I just don't want to go down to my dock and find a smoldering hull after all my work. I also was considering using some kind of spacers to raise it up off the wood floor to get a little air under it and get it away from the wood. Might be worrying over nothing, I just wish it wouldn't get quite so hot. Appreciate any feedback.

Leave space around it so it can breathe. It's normal for them to run hot. We owned 3 RQ's including a 69 37', great boats.
The transformer isolates the boat from all the baddies that can be included in your shore power. It protects against stray current corrosion. OLD HOUSEBOATER38901.8136226852
