We have a weeklong family gathering coming up in June, on Perdido Key, Florida, halfway between Pensacola and Mobile. Rather than dumping a fortune on a dinky condo like our more conventional relatives, we thought this might be a good opportunity to get some houseboating experience under our belts. I'm assured that one of our number will have a soundside dock for safe mooring. Anybody know of a houseboat rental nearby (or maybe even a swap with a local houseboat owner who hankers to visit lovely NC?)

I haven't heard of any houseboat rentals in that area. There are some sailboat charters that you may be able to rent from up there.
