I do not have a drain fitting in the bottom of my Gibson houseboat. I would like to install this but do not know the thickness of the hull. I requested this information from Gibson but they said it was not available.

Are you looking to put in a fitting like on a smaller boat, at the bottom of the transom?? If so I've ordered 3 inch tubes/plug assemblies. I'm sure that the transom is less than 3 inches - most likely about 2inches. I generally don't like to punch holes through a hull when there is wood in the laminate below the water line, it is another place to have a problem and start rot.

The transom was 21/4 inchs think in the old days, why would you want to put a drain in, like Joe says you are inviting trouble. Put in the small rule bilge pump, and you will not have water standing.
