What are the differances in the post '74 Burnscrafts? I see a few from then all the way to the '80's for sale and was wondering if they also were good, solid boats like the early '70's models.

I have noticed that some of them look more like sedan bridge type boats... very sharp IMO. Any info or opinions are appreciated.

All years premium boats. They also built cruisers up to 48 feet.

How ever that being said the youngest is over 20 years old. GET A GOOD SURVEY.

Now I am confused. The houseboat I bought was represented as a '76 model and the registration backs this up. In a conversation with the Pirate he mentioned that there were no '76 Burnscrafts. Anyone have any ideas how this could be? Thanks.

There were Burns but they were cruisers. Charlie Burns Old houseboater and I were going to start building boats a few years back and Charlie told us that the last houseboat was made in the summer of 1974. the molds were sold and that was that.

I noticed my boat has placard on the back with the hull # BMF430201175. If this boat could not be the model that is on the registration, is it possible to find out from this number? Thanks.

Burns made houseboats well into the mid 80's although our mainstay was Yachts.

Charles only sold the molds to the 34 footer and continued to build the 43 footer. I believe the molds for the 50 footer was destoryed in a fire in the late 70's. it was after this plant fire that Charles started building a 41' yacht.

I worked for BurnsCraft from 1979-1986. BurnsCraft was a small company and only built boat as they were ordered. During the time I worked there we built 6 to 8 boats a year and 90% were yachts.

If I remember correctly your # BMF430201175 is for;

BMF = Burns Mfg. 43 footer, 020 = 20th built in year, 1175 = Nov. 1975

Charles Burns built boats under the company name of Burns Mfg. Company for several years as he also had an auto transmission parts business operating under the same name. In the late 70's all company's were seperated and BurnsCraft became a stand a lone company. The serial number system remained in use untill the company went out of business in 1986. The BMF was changed to BC
