is there anything out there other than the lectra/san and purasan, I find it odd that only one company makes something most boats have to have, and so many people have their hands in the type 3 msd's.
thank you Jason Miller

old houseboater thanks for the advice, i'm thinking straps of some sort for my tv, its really the only thing i'm worryed about, as the xbox, dvd and vcr can go in the tv stand, would running a strap around the top and the bottom of the tv and tv stand then screwing them to the wall work, its a 32in tv, so its pretty heavy.
btw sorry if my post looked like i was snapping, when i said i would actually liek answers to the questions I asked. I was sort of in a mood, i had been researching this stuff on the web with little info gained. its pretty wild, it seems you can learn anything on the web except the ins and outs of living on a houseboat. l
thanks Jason Miller

I used plain old door chain locks. I screwed the sliders to the wall and the chain part to the tv cabinet. (can go either way) Make sure you hit a _frame_ flange, you can find the _frame_ by looking for the screws or rivets that hold on your interior paneling. Also, be carefull where you drill on your TV cabinet, not good to run into the picture tube. I also put rubber non slip sheeting under the TV.
The most dangerous thing that you have on the boat, in addition to the big TV, is the fridge (if full height) This sucker can hurt somebody if not anchored.

Let me get this right. You are new to boating and bought a 40 year old rq and are moving this monster from cal to ok. I have land in mo. for sale.....interested???? Seriously, you do not want a rq that has been in saltwater.

um you didn't get it straight, I am from Oklahoma, I bought the boat in california, I have moved onto the boat in california to go to grad school is San Fran, anyway, now that i'm hear, I ripped out two intternal walls, the bunk beds, old floors, and put new floors in, built a full sized murphy bed in the salon, installed a new head and lectrasan, moved my recliner in, aswell as my 32 in tv and entertainment stuff, dvd vcr and xbox, put all that between the shower and outside wall where the bunks were, put the recliner where the table was, built an incloser on the front deck to house my washer and dryer, and its all good.
Thank you Jason Miller
