I have a 37 ft burns craft. I use it on puget sound in washington state. i have had it for several years and have made many upgrades but I was wanting to know what engine or engines they came with origanally. I have repowered to a volvo 280 with a305 chevy. the cruise speed has always been very slow and i was wondering if anyone had just simply over powered one and got say 14knots or more. also i would be intrested in knowing the weight of the boat? The boat is actually 32ft but i have built a very large diving swim step with dive ladder and live well on the back. I did not realize thier was anymore of these boats out thier. Any chance anyone is in my neighborhood.

We belong to the local yacht club but are very intrested in starting a cruising house boat club in this area. It's just not much fun to cruise with boats that are so much faster.

Is your Burns a houseboat? A flat bottomed houseboat should move easily with small V-8s. Also on my burns the net weight is listed in the engine compartment right next to the hull number. Burns are uaually on the heavy side. mine reads "36000 net"
