Roll and Tip apply paint with a roller, then (quickly) lay it off with a premium quality brush usually with only vertical strokes, to smooth out the orange peel texture left by the roller. Jamestown Distributors has a site with a lot of how-to videos demonstrating all the processes involved in painting a boat. They have one in particular where they compare different brands of paint for workability and wear, including Interlux.
