SeaGoing was built in Florence Alabama. Most were steel but the last were glass. A surprising amount of these are still seen on the Tennessee River. They built boats up to the early/mid 70s.

thanx for the info, guess i had found that florence alabama bit on here with more research. I'm excited and a little frightened wondering what i've gotten myself into. haha  It sure seems like a brick stringers where i could see look brand new.  I'm trying to figure out transport options and being from the tundra up here with no marinas i think i need to purchase/build a trailer.  Any thoughts on weight? twin 318's v-drives, 40 foot flybridge etc. thanx again neil

Lake Metigoshe, north dakota, small lake, but international water, so pretty tundra like.  Guess there's a chance i could tug it with my f350, but had settled in on trying to use the freightliner. especially for the haul from Detroit, about 1200 miles.
