I came here through a search engine. I am 1/2 of a disabled, 2 person rowing team that has a goal of rowing from Cincinnati, OH to Louisville, KY in the last part of September of this year. This is a 132 mile river row and we will be not only the 2 first disabled rowers to accomplish this, but the 2 first female rowers to do it as well. I will not get into our disabilities at this time, but we have great support, such as Tori Murden-McClure, the first lady to cross the Atlantic Ocean in 1999.

For safety purposes and because we will be rowing approximately 40 miles/day, we have decided that having a houseboat follow us down the river will be most beneficial. In addition, just recently we have found out that there has been been at least $10,000 to possibly $20,000 put aside to do a documentary as we row down the river. The lady that sewed Tori's flags to cross the Atlantic ocean has sponsored our flags to come down the river as well.

I am having a hard time finding houseboat rental either in Louisville or Cincinnati. If anyone is willing to negotiate with our project manager, I am sure that sponsorship of your business or corporation can be added to our flag. Thank you for your time. Welcome. There was a company named Rivercity Charters that did some houseboat rental in the Cincy area, but I cannot find any information on them. I am not aware of any other rental oufits in the Cincy area.

I would suggest you contact some of the marinas (Villa Hills Marina, California Yacht Club, Rivertowne, Watertown, Four Seasons) in the area to see if they may have anyone that may have a houseboat for your cause.

Good luck in your quest. When will this take place?

You may want to check with some of the houseboat manufacturers, maybe one of them would be willing to help.

Thank you for the luck as well, and to answer the question "WHEN this will take place"...we HOPE to row into Louisville on Saturday, September 30th, 2006. We are also hoping to accomplish the row in 3 to 4 days.
