Peg,
Finally made it to my boat, and rita missed her so i'm ready to do some work. Current question is what type of hose do you recommend for fresh water lines, and where do you think the most economical place would be to purchase some?

Any hose from any source that's rated for potable water use would be fine. IMO, you'd be wise to go with an opaque hose, not clear, because clear lets light in, and even a little light encourages algae growth in addition to the assorted molds, fungi etc that take up housekeeping in all water hoses and are the source of funky onboard water (cureable by recommissioning the system at least annually). Just be sure that the hose for the hot water is also rated for hot water as well as for potable water.
RV supply stores may be less expensive sources than marine...and RVs fresh water systems are the same as those on boats. You'll just have to shop to find the best prices.
