I purchased a transfer switch for my kohler generator. My shore power is 220 and the switch I purchased is for 110. I purchase this switch form Cyber marine .com. I get a recording when I call their number. Here is where I need your help. I need to know if I can purchase another set of poles for this switch. It is a Newmar transfer switch. I need 220 coming in and 110 back to the generator. Also, Has anyone had problems with cyber marine?

Dont quite understand. If your shore power is 220V 50A you will need A 220V 50A Switch. Is the switch you have now a 30A or 50A. Your generator also needs to be hooked up in the 220V configuration. OLD HOUSEBOATER38148.7837731481

the switch I purchased is 120/240VAC, 63  amps max. It is my understanding that you can purchase a three pole switch that accepts 220 coming in and two pole for the 110 going to the generator. I have it hooked to the main panel now. I just have to make sure the two breakers going to the generator are switched off before I turn on my shore power.

Something is not right.

You need a 3 position switch that is:

Generator - Off - Shore

The switch is wired with inputs from Shore and Generator and output to your onboard breaker box.

You should not have any other switches or breakers to operate your generator or shore power.

If your boat is wired for 220 why isn't your generator set up for 220?
