I have a JC TRI-TOON 266 w/135hp I/O. Have drawn plans to convert it to a house boat for short trips (weekend to week or so). Plan call for stripping it down to the deck., move the helm forward to about 5' from the bow giving me a small fwrd open deck area. _frame_ work will be 2"x3" alumn. studs (like those used to screen in swimming pools, etc.), roof will be 2" thick alumn. insulated T&G panells. Siding will be 75% in windows, balance insulated with 1" foam and sided with Alumn. sheeting. Boat is rated for 4,000# capacity, so feel I am not exceeding that. Furnishing will be futon couch w/bunk built above it, dinette, double helm seat, galley and head. And and all comments and ideas from experienced houseboaters would be greatly appreciated.
