I have been looking into purchasing a houseboat and securing a slip close to home on the Missisippi. I need to know a couple of things. What is the difference between yearly and summer rental? Is a yearly fee the same as winter rates? When i have called a few of the Marina's they have made me feel foolish when i ask these questions. Also if anyone knows what rates Marina's charge from Red Wing South i would appriatiate the information. I thought i could afford a older houseboat but i am not sure any more if i will have to pay 4500.00 for a slip, as I was planing to reserve some Cash every year for repair and maintenance.

How big of boat are you looking to slip? That will very the price. Most marinas around here can only acomidate up to about 50ft. Where are you located? In Winona ,MN a 36' slips for about $700-800 for the summer, the closer to the Twin Cities and Lacrosse the more you will spend. Email or respond and I can try to help. yearly rentals covers everything, storage in winter,them putting your boat in the water, electric,water, pump out service, etc. where summer rental includes everything but storage for winter and take out and put back in water. go to www.wolfmarine.com they have a good website and they have a sheet of information. I too am looking for slips in the areas of stillwater,mn and wabasha mn. in wabasha mn that area of the mississippi doesnt freeze. good luck to you and keep in touch..felly

I have a houseboat on Kentucky lake --hop-slide to Missippi. My slip rental is just 1800 per year. My boat is 36 ft Gibson and I would like to sell it this year sometime. $1800. It's older but engines work great. It is a good fixerupper. Would be a comfortable live aboard.
