I am currently renovating a houseboat. I am useing a honda generator for my 110 source. The question that I ask is the main lead coming from the generator , going to the main panel is it wired like regular house wiring? I am going into a control panel (like a house) with no main, but 6 -20 amp service breakers.I will also be useing an inverter with 8- 6 volt deep cycle batteries also. Since your lost I suggest you employ a marine or RV electrician to help you out. how are you protecting yourself from carbon monoxide createdby the generator?

Thanks for your input.. But I would like to see if anyone has diagrams or has been there before. As far as the generator, its on the second floor and ventilated very well out of harms way.

I can probably help you but I need to know a few things first. Is your boat ever going to be hooked to shore power? Will your boat need 220v to run anything on it when hooked to shore power? ie. a/c, water heater, etc. How big is the inverter you plan to use?

Hi Miss Sandi, thanks for the response , as far as the 220 hook up that a big no. The house boat is tethered on a ball in the lake with other house boats. The size of the inverter is a 1750 ? That is what the box says. I plan on running 8- 6 volt golf cart batteries hooked series/parallel , and I also have 4 solar panels to be put on the roof to charge the batteries. As far as the accessories that we plan on using, we only have a very small micro wave , very small fridge (under the counter), and a trash compactor.Any other info that you need , just let me know, and thanks again for the quick response.
