I am replacing/updating the gasoline supply system and the LPG system on my 40' Riverqueen. The Coast Guard may now like me.As installed the previous systems were deadly. If you need weird (as in Home Depot look at you as if you are mad) or just regular brass fittings check out    www.fittings4less.comThey have a whole bunch of stuff and their prices are good, flat rate shipping is $7.50.Kevin is really helpful. Try them you will like them!Usual disclaimers.David Morton

Hi Pirate,The existing system only has a shut-off valve near the tank outlet,it also has a male flare x npt male adapter tack-welded to the tank boss, that makes it impossible to remove ( I have 70 galls of fuel in the tank)I did not install this fitting!!!!I have purchased a female flare x hose barb fitting to make this transition. I am using Accol fuel hose to a ball valve, to the water separator and to the fuel flow transducer and thence to the fuel pump. What is an anti-syphon valve? Where can I buy one? (I am using 3/8" hose and fittings)I assume it would be located close to the fuel tank outlet. Thanks for any info,David Morton

Marine supply house. Keeps the fuel from syphoning from the tank. I have had bad luck with them sticking but they are a Coast guard requirement on lates 70s on boats.

Anti -siphon is only required if it is downhill from your tank to the engine. If the fuel is being pumped up hill you don't need one. This is a common misconception that all inboard gas engines have to have an anti-siphon valve. Yes they do clog but the biggest problem with them is putting them in backward.

By the way, those fittings you're buying make sure they are the real thing. There is a huge problem with cheap fakes coming from China. They don't meet Coast Guard standards for fire resistance and they more than likely don't meet SAE standards.eIke39016.9411342593

Hi Peter,I did have that same thoughtHowever, the only fitting that I am installing new, that will see any high pressure, is the 1/4" female inverted flare x male npt adapter connecting the tank pigtail to the forged tee connected to the Fireboy solenoid valve.Fittings4less was the only place I could find this fitting! I have no clue as to its pedigree. The anti-syphon valve, at the gasoline tanks, is "designed to support 30" of gasoline"I am installing this right at the tank pick-up The fuel system is all "downhill" from there. I have installed a ball valve at the water separator to allow for filter replacement and shut-off if the engine is not used for extended periods. All the other lpg components will only see low regulated pressure, except for the inlet side to the "Trident' regulator and the 'Fireboy' solenoid valve. The tank and the lpg manifold will be inside a locker on the upper deck in the open. This locker will be drained overboard.Connections to the users (3) will be by way of 'Trident" lpg hose assemblies passing through watertight straight thru fittings in the deck. Please advise if you see any safety related errors or omissions. Thanks for your concern,David Morton
