Hi everyone..new to boards here and hope someone can help.
My father was in Coast Guard 20 yrs and he has a 36 foot Gibson houseboat. He had a stroke 3 yrs ago and can't remember how to de winterize the boat.
He always had people helping him but you always hear when someone gets old their friends forget who they are.
We paid a great guy to winterize the boat last yr but not sure if he is willing to de-winterize. Is it hard? I am pretty good at stuff if given instructions. I want to get it ready so if my dad feels like taking it out, he can.
Thanks!

De-winterizing is usually easier than winterizing. I'd contact the same guy and see if he wants to do it.
If you want to do it yourself, the big problem is figuring out where all the motor drain plugs go and where the disconnected hoses go. There might be a few valves that are closed off also, but I'm not familiar enough with Gibsons to tell you where they are.
You could probably ask some of the people at the marina. Some of them could probably help you out. They pretty much told me how to winterize my first year.
