Pump Replacement 5 Years, 9 Months ago Karma: 0
I have a 318 Chrysler with a Dana #80 I/O. There is a watercooled pump that delivers trans fluid to the O/D. My question is: If I have to replace this pump, where could I locate one and does it have to be the exact pump? Thanks in advance....TPN

It wouldn't seem that you'd have to use the same setup. I would think that as long as you can find a pump that can handle the flow and pressure and temperature I think it would work. Mount it any where convienient to power it. It may be easier to get an electrically operated pump to simplify mounting.

Joe....Thanks for the reply. If I replace with another _style_ pump, what about the water cooling? TPN

GET ONE AT A JUNK YARD THAT MATCHES THE ONE YOU HAVE. SWAP THE RELIEF VALVE AND THE TANK (WHICH CONTAINS THE HEAT EXCHANGER FROM YOUR OLD PUMP) THIS TAKES ABOUT 5 MINUTES TO DO.
