It is possible water is trapped amidships as the weep holes get clogged and drain very slowly. This would stop tho. It more than likely is the deck crack if everything else has been checked.

My Carlcraft is very simular to your year Gibson. I had the exact same problem and it wasn't until I sealed between the outside cabin and the deck then the water in the front cuddy disappeard. I think your husband is right.
