Hello all,
Purchased a 1972 R.Q. this past summer. 40 ft. dual chryslers, v-drive. I would like to take my pwc-3 seater: 400 lbs: with me. Has anyone seen or designed a simple lift platform or the use of a light weight crane?
Thank you in advance.........Slackard

Whatever the solution is, it's probably not too simple. My new 2 seater weighs 790, but maybe you have an older 2 stroke. I just didn't want to put that much stress on the old steel. I'm sure it can be done if you find the right person to fabricate the lift. Otherwise, obviously tow it, which has it's own drawbacks. Good luck. If you do it, you should probably plan on something that lifts 1000 lbs, because if you like pwc's, you'll be trading up to a 4 stroke sometime.

We had a dock mate with a RQ, and he put lifts on the back of his for their 3 sesater pwc, but we didn't see him use it much. Nothing was ever said but he quit using it, and don't say that probably weren't attached right because this man is very mechanical. Just from knowing him- I know he done it right.
So I will third the opinion of tow it.
We towed ours behind our Gibson, we had a lift but didn't want the added stress of lifting it up and down, not worth it. . . .

I've seen these lifts at Boat shows. I've also seen ramps of some sort that pull the PWC out of the water. However, all of these were on much bigger boats than yours. That's a lot of weight to put on the stern of your boat.
