Fresh water cooled engines have heat exchangers mounted on them . This prevents salt water from destroying engines and manifolds. Risers still have to be replaced every 3 years.

If you don't have them kits are available.

Older, great for the info. Thanks. My wife is getting cool feet with the proposed move but I am open and willing.

Question how do I post photos on this site of the RQ?

Click on the upload image icon in the post reply or new post form.

(5th icon from the left) and you can load directly from your computer. Note dont exceed 150KB file size.

Or click on the add image in the lower row and download the image/s from your photo storage server.

Hi

Anything new in here? Have not seen any thing much. We have hade a great summer on our Riverqueen, purchased in March/April. Cleared the dock last weekend when I changed out the black water tank and sanitary hoses.

What fun.

See ya.

I don't have a picture of our 40' RQ to post yet; will when I do.  We acquired it in 2000 after it had been on shore for 3 years.  It was between a tender, loving new owner and the scrapyard.  We knew nothing about rusting out from inside, so when we launched it the keel collapsed and we nearly sank.  God looks out for widows, orphans, and idiots, of which I am the last.  We got it out of the water and found a marine welder to replace the keel and some of the hull.  No futher trouble that way.  It has been a labor of love and we live on it during the summer at Williamtown, WV, on the Ohio River.
