anyone know how to contacct river queen, or what ever company
owns them now, or who ever or what ever is the for most expert on
these things, I really need some info on my boat, its a 1963 36 or
37ft rq I need to know what walls hold a load, is it just the two long
outside walls or do any of the internal or two outer beam walls carry
a load aswell?

Thank you

River Queen went out of business in 1974.

In most cases the outer walls carry the load. Interior walls are just diveder walls and arent called on for structural support.

Hi Jason,

Actually they did go out of business however you can contact Tower
Marine in Douglas MI (www.towermarine.com or This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
269-857-1481) which is owned by RJ Peterson who's father started
building RQ's in Indiana then moved north to Douglas.

If you get a chance to speak directly with RJ it will be a great but
quick conversation, he's always on the move. He still works 7 days a
week and is full of life and stories. I have enjoyed several
conversations with him in the last year or so.

Also check out Mike Wolfe's site www.mikewolfe.us lots of information
and stories, don't forget to register your boat on the RQ Registry
page, were trying to list all the River Queens still in service by
their hull numbers - check it out

Scott
