recently purchased a 1971 28' Nautaline houseboat. The boat is in great condition considering the age of the boat. The one problem that it has is that the flooring in the rear of the boat needs to be replaced. I also want to place a full head in the bathroom.
Does anyone know of a person(s) or company in the Edgewater, Maryland area that can work on the boat? I have spoke with several people and know one is really interested in talking on the task. I was thinking that the job would be great for a retired carpenter or someone who likes to tinker on the side with wood.
I fully realize that the money you place into the boat you will not get when you attempt to resale it.
It would be greatly appreciated if anyone can point me in the right direction!
Thanks,

Ray Barrett, In Maryland

Does all the mechanical stuff work ok engine, transmission/drive, steering cable/hydraulics, shifters? These things can cost a bundle to repair or replace. Like OH says problems in a boat can run deep. Depending on the price it may be worth it to fix 'er up or if you are like me and love old boats and get enjoyment from tinkering then you may have bought some "fun" for a year or two. If you want a full head consider a lectra san/purasan unit, but first check if you are in a nodischarge zone. Peggy Hall , a moderator on this board, is your best source ideas/help on marine sanitation - she's been a big help to me on past projects.
