Nautaline Scuppers 3 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
I own (or am owned by) a 1973 43" Nautaline that takes in rain water mostly in the catwalk area. Each has a gutter with 2 scuppers near the ends that seem to drain into the catwalk but I see no way out. Is this intended? I have flooded the gutters and they do drip out along the bottm seam but they should discharge out the stern ends, so why the scuppers? I'm still fond of the old gal but as you know it is harde to find data. I believe Pirate used to handle them. Thoughts?

Anyone? Should scuppers be blocked?

I've got a 74 model 43' and mine doesn't have the scuppers, the water just runs off the stern of the boat in the gutter/channel. Maybe there is a reason for the scuppers, but if it was mine and I couldn't see that the scuppers went to a thru hull fitting somewhere i'd block them off and let the water flow on by and out. Good Luck
