Thru Hull Transducer on Aluminum-Do they work? 7 Months ago Karma: 0  
Any comments about depth sounders using a thru hull transducer on an aluminum hull? I've seen one advertised that is supposed to work on an aluminum hull. A number of years ago I installed a thru hull transducer on a fiberglass hull and it worked perfectly, however, I'm skeptical about a transducer working thru aluminum.

you can't have transducer touching the aluminum....must have gaskets.

wood block inside gasket outside unless you can get the proper block. use Boat life caulk as bedding compound.
